About Vicki

101_2553I live on a farm with my husband, my son, 5 dogs, 5 cats, 5 goats (I bet you think you’re seeing a pattern here, but that’s the end of it), a few horses and lots of cows. I am a homeschooling mom and facilitate music programs for people ages 0 and up. I enjoy spending time with family, reading, gardening and exploring the woods. I also indulge in daily prayer and meditation. I call this “Spiritual Hygiene.” It’s right up there with brushing your teeth and washing your face. It helps keep you healthy and strong.

I’ve learned that my relationship with Spirit is my guide to peace and happiness. In some parts of my life, this guidance is evident; other parts glaringly indicate that sometimes I have ignored Spirit. My journey has included some straight stretches, but also some loopedy-loops, u-turns, back-tracking and other side trips. You could say it’s been a scenic journey so far.

This blog is about my continuing journey as I look for Truth in everyday life. I hope you’ll find things that touch your heart, move you, and open your mind to new ideas. Or maybe you’ll revisit some old ideas. I hope you enjoy my journey and that it will be useful to you as you progress on your own journey.

  1. Hi Vicki, I am enjoying your posts and happened to see the one on paddle boarding on Jim’s FB page. It really was an adventure and makes me want to try it. I remember kayaking in Alaska twice…once off of Sitka and the other in the lake at the base of Mendenhal Glacier near Juneau. I was with 2 or 3 experienced kayakers-also taking Elderhostel Classes with Mom and I. Anyway we came across a fearless sea otter who just kept rolling in the water a few feet away. He seemed playful and I just quit paddling and watched him for several minutes. Such an amazing memory from that trip!
